Description
During the 4th Ministerial Conference of the Forum for Economic and Trade Cooperation between China and Portuguese-speaking countries in 2013, the Chinese Government offered a $23 million grant for the Beira Central Hospital Pediatric Ward Construction Project. This project involved the construction of a pediatric ward in 4000 square meter area that is adjacent to Beira Central Hospital. The four-story building includes 168 beds, and a children's emergency center, a clinical analysis laboratory, digital radiographs, and an intensive care and malnutrition unit. China State Construction Engineering Corporation Ltd. was the contractor responsible for implementation. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on July 8, 2016 and the project was completed on September 2, 2017.
