Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In September 2013, China and Somalia signed a cooperation agreement in Mogadishu to rebuild Banadir Maternity & Children Hospital (贝纳迪尔医院扩建项目), a teaching hospital in Wadajir District of Mogadishu. The Somali Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister Fawsiya Yusuf Haji Aden and the Chinese ambassador to Kenya, Liu Guangyuan, signed the agreement which outlines a five year recovery plan, including rebuilding the National Theater (Record ID#31069), the Mogadishu Stadium (Record ID#31068) and a road between Galkayo and Burao (Record ID#31070) in addition to the hospital. In November 2014, China furthered its aid to this hospital by providing it materials.

Staff comments

According to a report by Xinhua News Agency in 2016, the reconstruction work of the hospital does not seem to have started yet. Needs further verification.
