Description

In September 2013, the Somali Prime Minister and the Foreign Minister of Somalia Fawsiya Yusuf Haji Aden and the Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Liu Guangyuan signed a grant cooperation agreement in Mogadishu for China to rebuild the National Theater. The agreement outlines a five year recovery plan, including rebuilding a mother and child health hospital (project #31067), the Mogadishu Stadium (project #31068) and a road between Galkayo and Burao (project #31070) in addition to the theater. The theater reopened on July 1, 2020, with support from China.
