Project narrative

Under the leadership and support of the Office of Chinese Language Council International (Hanban), the Confucius Institute at Kenyatta University was jointly constructed by Shandong Normal University in China and Kenyatta University in Kenya. The Institute was established on December 3, 2008, in Nairobi. Chinese Ambassador Zhang Ming, representing the Confucius Institute Headquarters, signed the handover certificate with Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Mugenda of Kenyatta University.
