Project narrative

On May 14, 2012, a Confucius Institute was established at the Hassan II University of Casablanca (French: Université Hassan II de Casablanca & Arabic: جامعة الحسن الثاني بالدارالبیضاء) in partnership with the Shanghai International Studies University. On January 18, 2013, the Confucius Institute held its opening ceremony. Chinese Ambassador to Morocco, Xu Jinghu, Secretary General of the Moroccan Ministry of Higher Education, Abdelhafid Debbarh, President of Hassan II University of Casablanca, Jaafar Khalid Naciri, and President of Shanghai International Studies University, Cao Deming, delivered speeches and jointly unveiled the Confucius Institute.
