Project narrative

In 2008, the Chinese Government provided a $439,399.49 grant to the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo for the China-Congo Center for Treatment and Prevention of Malaria Project. This project involved the establishment of a China-Congo Center for Treatment and Prevention of Malaria at the Sino-Congolese Friendship Hospital in N'djili. In November 2007 at the Beijing Summit, it was announced that the agreement for the anti-malaria center was going to be signed soon. According to the Government of the Democratic Republic of Congo’s Aid Management Platform (AMP), the Chinese Government disbursed $439,238.65 of grant funding in support of this project. The Chinese Government later donated equipment to the center, which is captured in the linked Record ID#53517. The French project title is Centre de prévention et traitement du paludisme de Chine-Congo.
