On June 14, 2006, Chinese Ambassador to Angola Zhang Beisan presented a check worth $200,000 to the Minister of Health Sebastiao Sapuile Veloso to support Angolan efforts to prevent cholera (see '安哥拉政府感谢我提供抗霍乱无偿援助'). This money was intended to be used to support emergency medical supplies assistance to the Angolan health department.
