In 2007, the Chinese Government and the Government of Zambia signed a grant agreement for the Two Rural Schools Construction Project. The monetary value of this grant commitment is unknown. This project involved the construction of Tiyende Pamodzi Primary School (formerly known as Lusaka Rural Primary School) and Kapiri Modern Primary School. Tiyende Pamodzi Primary School is located in the Matero area of Lusaka. Kapiri Modern Primary School is located in Kapiri Mposhi. Jiangxi Metallurgical Design Institute was responsible for the design of the project and Jiangxi Construction Engineering Group was the responsible for the implementation of the project. The construction of the Kapiri Modern Basic School which was completed in October 2010 and was handed over to the Zambian authorities in February 2011. The construction of the Tiyende Pamodzi Primary School officially commenced on August 29, 2010 and was completed on April 25, 2011. It was then handed over to the Zambian authorities on December 31, 2012.
