Project narrative
The Chinese Government provided a grant to the Government of Tunisia for the 2009 Aquaculture Project. The Chinese Government donated aquaculture equipment to Tunisia, dispatched Chinese aquaculture experts to the country, conducted on-site technical training, and invited officials and technicians from Tunisia's Ministry of Agriculture and Water Resources to China for inspections and training, in order to bring freshwater water fish farming technology to Tunisia. The project was also intended to help protect Tunisian reservoirs, canals, and the environment at large. In early January 2009, a team of 2 Chinese experts from the freshwater aquaculture technical team arrived in Tunisia and began their 8-month technical service and training stint in Tunisia. Additionally, all materials from the Chinese Government were delivered to the project site. On December 21, 2009, the Chinese Government signed a handover certificate with the Government of Tunisia for the completion of the project.
