Project narrative

On April 8, 2006, China and Cambodia signed an Exchange of Notes Agreements to provide 30 firetrucks for Cambodia. On the afternoon of May 10, 2007, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Kennedy, personally presided over the handover of 30 fire engines to the Royal Government of Cambodia in the Cambodian capital of Phnom Penh. Mrs. Zhang Jinfeng, China's Ambassador to Cambodia, and Mr. Hok Lundy, National Police Chief of Cambodia, singed the Certificate of Delivery and Receipt on behalf of China and Cambodia respectively on May 14, 2007. The donation is a follow-up to the pledge by the Chinese government to provide water pumps (see Record ID#32127) and fire engines (as captured in this project) to Cambodia during the second summit of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) in July 2005.
