Project narrative

On September 12th, 2005, China and Cambodia signed the exchange certificate indicating a formal transfer of the PCVSAT satellite meteorological equipment from China to Cambodia. This markes an important achievement between the China Meteorological Administration and the Cambodian Ministry of Hydrometeorology as well indicates their sincere cooperation. This may be linked to the 'Thirty-Seventh Session of the Typhoon Committee' event that was held in Shanghai, China on 16-20 November 2004; an annual event which China Meteorological Administration. In the event, the committee has urged its own members to provide assistance for capacity building to Cambodia, North Korea and Laos through training fellowships and attachments to advanced centers, and upgrading of observation and telecommunication facilities. China's donation of the PC VSAT satellite to Cambodia can be seen in the context of this event.
