Description

On January 4, 2005, A 14-member Chinese medical team arrived in Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka. The team consists of 5 surgeons and 2 nurses from Beijing Friendship Hospital, as well as 7 epidemic prevention workers from Beijing Center for Disease Control. The team was later joined by 3 medical professionals from Macau and 1 person from Beijing Municipal Commission of Population and Family Planning. The team, also known as the third international medical team for Indian Ocean Tsunami relief, returned to China on January 19.

The four international medical teams for Indian Ocean Tsunami relief are #34816 (2 teams to Thailand), #33231 (1 team to Sri Lanka), and #35113 (1 team to Indonesia). China contributed 63 million USD for tsunami relief in total, most of the individual project are captured (see projects linked with resource #41811).
