Description

On January 19, 2005, an 11-member Chinese expert team from the Chinese Ministry of Commerce (MOC), Ministry of Construction, Ministry of Civil Affairs arrived in Sri Lanka to 1) evaluate local conditions in the wake of the killer tsunami, 2) help local governments in the country to resume the power supply and communications and 3) reconstruct the infrastructure facilities. The expert team, China built for international relief efforts, left China's capital Beijing for Sri Lanka on Jan 17 and left 10 days later on Jan 27.
