Description

On 24 April 2006, the Chinese Government signed an exchange of letters providing a 50 million RMB interest-free loan to the Government of Bangladesh (see Project #34024). There is no evidence that this loan was ever drawn down. Then, between 28 and 29 July 2009 during the 12th Joint Commission (JC) between Bangladesh and China in Beijing, the Chinese Government agreed to extend the term of this unutilized 50 million RMB interest-free loan by five years. The original maturity is unknown so it is unclear what the new terms are.
