In 2008, China funded the construction and completion of an anti-malaria center in Nazrēt (Adama), Oromo, Ethiopia including furniture and other necessary equipment (see 'The EU and China inAfrican Authoritarian Regimes: Domestic Politics and Governance Reforms'). The opening ceremony for the anti-malaria center took place on December 26, 2008. The project was provided under the Forum for Africa-China Cooperation (FOCAC) framework (see 'The EU and China in African Authoritarian Regimes: Domestic Politics and Governance Reforms').
