Project narrative

In May 2008 China sent relief supplies worth 500,000 USD to Myanmar in response to Cyclone Nargis. The goods arrived at Yangon International Airport and were officially handed over on May 7, 2008. The donation included 700 tents, 9,800 blankets, and 13 tons of food. This donation accompanied a 500,000 USD cash donation for the same purpose (see Record ID#34211). The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Financial Tracking Service lists the project as flow ID #54535.
