Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On 10 February 2004, China donated US$100, 000 to Vietnam in order to combat the bird flu virus. No details were given regarding how the grant would be used. Over 2,500 communes in 57 cities and provinces in Vietnam have been struck by the H5N1 strain of avian influenza, which killed and led to the culling of over 38.1 million birds, 15 percent of the country's poultry.
