Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In July 2007, the Chinese Government pledged to loan 20 billion Baht to Thai Mobile (TOT), a Thai telecommunications company, to upgrade their services to support 3G communications. Under the conditions of the loan, TOT would have to buy network equipment from Chinese vendors. The loan would also have be repaid within 10-15 years. Ultimately, the project does not seem to have materialized, as the loans for it were eventually arranged by Bank of Audhya PCL and United Overseas Bank (Thai).
