Project narrative

On September 23, 2008, officials from China and Southern Sudan signed an agreement for China to donate CNY 5 million of medical equipment to Southern Sudan. The equipment arrived in Juba, Sudan in March 2009 and four Chinese technicians went to South Sudan for 12 days in August to install the equipment and train local technicians to use it. On August 17, 2009, the Chinese Consulate in Juba held a ceremony officially handing over the donation. The equipment included x-ray machines, ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus, Doppler diagnostic apparatus, and anesthesia machine.
