Description

In 2005, the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) donated, through the Red Cross Society of China (RCSC), 1 million RMB (about $120,000 USD) to the countries affected by the 2004 tsunami including Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Maldives. The specific distribution of the donation amongst the various countries was not disclosed. Additionally, ICBC and the Red Cross Society of China set up the "A Click of Mouse, A love You Give" program to collect donations for the countries - the bank opened special accounts for donors and offered them financial advice.
