Description
In 2006, the Chinese Government pledged to provide $200 million to finance the Gwadar coastal highway project. The highway connects the Gwadar port with Karachi. According to shipping industry experts, the Gwadar Port could be used as corridor for energy supply to China. As of 2014, the project is completed. The highway is also referred to as the Makran Coastal Highway. This is a 653 km national highway in Pakistan which extends along Pakistan's Arabian Sea coast from Karachi in Sindh province to Gwadar in Balochistan province. It passes the towns of Ormara and Pasni. More locational details can be found at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Makran_Coastal_Highway#/media/File:Pakistan_Nationalhighways.PNG.
Additional details
The Gwadar coastal highway is sometimes referred to as National Highway N–10. This highway project is not to be confused with the China Eximbank funding of the Gwadar-Karachi Motorway project in 2011 (Project ID #37276), or phase one of the Gwadar Port project with Chinese Government financing of $198 million (see Project ID#35124, #38995, #38996).
