Description

The Chinese Government has been sending medical teams to Botswana since 1981. Fujian Province has been responsible for sending the teams. On February 13, 2015, the Chinese Government and the Government of Botswana signed an agreement, officially dispatching the 14th medical team to Botswana. China’s Ambassador to Botswana Zheng Zhuqiang and Botswana's Minister of Health Dorcas Makgato-Malesu signed the agreement in Gaborone, capital of Botswana. The 14th medical team consisted of 46 members (including 30 doctors, 10 nurses and 6 support staff) who were stationed at Nyangabgwe Referral Hospital in the city of Francistown and Princess Marina Hospital in the city of Gaborone. The team, which included cardiac surgeons, physicians, oncologists, and gynaecologists, completed its term of service between June 8, 2015 and June 20, 2017.
