Project narrative

On 2 May 2008, Cycone Nargis hit Myanmar leaving tens of thousands of people dead, missing, or homeless. In response, on 10 May 2008, the Chinese Economic Attaché Office, jointly with a number of Chinese firms active in Myanmar, donated $6,000 USD (1.35 million kyat) for disaster relief efforts. The firms included Anhui Foreign Economic, China National Aero-Technology, Chinese Building Materials Industrial Corporation (CBMIC), China National Heavy Machinery Co, China Chengda Engineering and other companies.
