Project narrative

On 2006 Dec 6, sponsored by Chinese firms in Kenya, the Chinese Embassy donates 25000 USD through a youth development org to renovate new classrooms of Mcedo-Beijing school (姆赛多-北京小学). Located at the heart of Mathare slums, the Mcedo-Beijing school accommodates 250 disadvantaged pupils and 10 teachers. The renovation project is completed with 8 classrooms and 600 square meters in June 26 2007. It is unclear how much funding came from the Chinese embassy. According to a speech by the Chinese Ambassador, by 2012, the Chinese embassy and 16 Chinese companies in Kenya have jointly donated a total of 20.46 million KSH.
