Project narrative

On November 2 2014, the Chinese Embassy in Somalia donated humanitarian aid worth of $20,000 in cash to the Somali Famine Relief. According to the Chinese Embassy, Chinese Ambassador to Somalia Wei Hongtian and Mr. Abdiqadir Abdi Farah, Permanent Secretary of the Office of the Prime Minister, attended the hand-over ceremony. The aid was intended for relieving the food crises caused by severe drought in 6 states in southern Somalia which affected over a million Somali citizens.
