Description

In late July 2010, Pakistan experienced the worst floods in 80 years due to heavy monsoon rains and strong winds. On 25 August 2010, Chinese Ministry of Commerce official Chong Quan met with the Pakistani Ambassador to China Masood Khan and pledged a third batch of humanitarian aid worth 60 million RMB for flood relief efforts. This was the fourth donation of four. The other three are captured in project #38551, #36809, and #36801. This third batch was delivered to Chaklala Base in Islamabad and officially handed over to the Government of Pakistan on 7 September 2010. The entire aid package weighed 810 tons and included tents and water purification tools. It was transported by nine People's Liberation Army (PLA) cargo planes. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Financial Tracking Service captures this first batch of donations in flow ID #78293
