Project narrative

On January 24, 2011, the Chinese Government and the Government of Pakistan signed a grant agreement to support victims of the July 2010 floods in Pakistan. The Chinese Government agreed to provide a $10 million USD cash grant to support the Government of Pakistan's Citizens Damage Compensation Program (CDCP) for flood survivors. This grant commitment and a $400 million loan pledge were announced by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao while he was speaking at the National Disaster Management Authority in Islamabad on December 18, 2010.
