Project narrative

On September 11, 2011, the Chinese government pledged to donate emergency humanitarian aid worth 30 million RMB (4.7 million USD) to the Government of Pakistan following the the Sindh floods between August and September 2011. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Financial Tracking Service (flow ID #88877) marks this donation as fully paid. The aid package included 7,000 tents was delivered by nine planes in two separate batches. The first batch was delivered to Karachi on September 23, 2011 and the second batch was delivered on September 24, 2011. The Chinese government later donated an additional $5 million USD to Pakistan for flood relief (Record ID#53535).
