Project narrative

Summary: Chinese Ambassador to Uruguay Yan Banghua met with Uruguay's Acting Minister of Livestock, Agriculture and Fishery Enzo Benech, in Montevideo, capital of Uruguay, on April 30, 2014. The Government of China formalized the donation of machinery and equipment for Uruguay's Agrarian Youth Movement (MJA), worth approximately a million U.S. dollars, as part of the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation that Uruguay and China signed on 2006. The MJA is an educational nonprofit institution that helps the youth in the countryside. The donation to the MJA included vehicles, tractors, plows, harvesters and computers, as well as the assistance of Chinese technicians who moved to Uruguay for the assembly of the machinery.
