A donation of $7,500 USD was given on April 27, 2000 to the permanent secretary for Foreign Affairs and External Trade of Fiji. Lu Shumin, the director-general of the Department of North American and Oceanic Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China made the donation. The donation was towards the purchase of office equipment.
