Description

In February 2005, the Chinese government granted $1 million USD to Fiji, praising Suva for sticking to its one-China policy of recognizing Beijing over Taipei. The announcement came during a visit to Fiji by a high-powered Chinese delegation. The grant will help with repairs to the Chinese-funded gymnasium, aquatic and hockey centers that were built for the 2003 South Pacific Games in Fiji.
