Project narrative

On February 1, 2008, the Chinese Embassy and the Indonesian Ministry of Health conducted a anti-malaria drugs handover ceremony in the Indonesia Ministry of Health Disease Control and Environmental Health Office. These anti-malaria drugs are worth 3 million Yuan and arrived in Jakarta in two batches, one in October 2007 and the second in January 2008. The Indonesian ministry thanked the Chinese government and people for their support for the fight against malaria in Indonesia. The drug assistance provided was in the form of 45,000 doses of artemether injection for adults ad 87,500 doses of artemether injection for children in the first batch, and 145,920 boxes of artesunate and amodiaquine tablets in the second batch. The anti-malarial drugs will be distributed to provinces and hospitals with the worst malarial outbreaks.
