Description

In 2007, officials and experts from the water conservancy departments of the Chinese and Bangladeshi governments exchanged visits and signed an MOU with regards to technological cooperation on water conservancy. Specific cooperation projects included dike arrangement and sectional design for the Brahmaputra River, regulating the River's watercourses and joint research on the River's watercourses and silt movement. In 2014, China and Bangladesh renewed the memorandum on flood reporting, and in 2015, China began giving Bangladesh flow data on the Brahmaputra river. This has helped Bangladesh in flood forecasting and emergency response efforts.
