Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On August 27, 2010, the Chinese Government donated waste handling equipment and supplies worth more than RMB 16 million (or approximately 300 million Nepali rupees) to Nepal's capital city, Kathmandu. The 138 cleaning/sanitation vehicles and equipment include sealed garbage trucks, compression garbage trucks, sweepers, sprinklers, other modern garbage processing equipment, four thousand 240 liter containers and 4 ambulances. This batch of equipment and supplies would reportedly improve municipal management conditions in Kathmandu and enhance the aesthetic appearance of the city. In October 2010, only some of the vehicles and containers were in use due to lack of "Pollution Clearance Letters".
