Project narrative

In April 2008, Laos conducted a feasibility study of a rail link from Vientiane to Thakhek, and onto Muya in Vietnam to connect to the Vietnam Railway Network. The study was funded by the Chinese government with the participation of a group of twelve Chinese technical staff. Vientiane Times reported that the estimated cost of the study was $100,000, and that the study was underway and expected to be completed by the first week of April 2008.
