Project narrative

On 26 August 2006, the diplomat from the Embassy of The People's Republic of China saw off two Brunei students at the airport, who have been awarded the full scholarship by the Chinese Government. The two students are from Maktab Sains Paduka Seri Begawan Sultan (MSPSBS), namely Pang Yi Jun and Pang Chia Cyn, and are the first batch awarded students. Pang Yi Jun will major in Finance at Shanghai University of Finance & Economics and Pang Chia Cyn will major in pharmacy at China Pharmacy University. According to the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of Higher Education between the Ministry of Eudcation of China and the Ministry of Education of Brunei Darussalam signed in 2004, the Ministry of Education of China will provide two Bruneian students with full scholarships in China. Bruneian citizens can apply for a Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree or further study of mandarin language and other professional/advanced courses.
