Project narrative

On November 12, 2010, the Confucius Institute at Ricardo Palma University and Hebei Normal University were jointly inaugurated. Chinese Ambassador to Peru Zhao Wuyi, Hebei Education Department Christians Liu, and vice president of Hebei Normal University, Chun-Li Wang delivered speeches at the opening ceremony on April 12, 2011. The first cohort of students was recruited in March 2011, and the institutes established the first Chinese-Spanish translation majors in South American universities. Students are recruited every two years for a five-year program.
