According to the Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning (BAPPENAS), China Eximbank agreed at least in principle in 2014 to provide a $150 million loan for the Railway Double Tracking and Signaling Improvement (Solo-Surabaya Section) Project. This project was to be executed by the Ministry of Transport over a span of 60 months in Central Java Province. AidData has not identified any evidence that this project ever resulted in a signed loan agreement (i.e. an official commitment).
