In November 2011, at the 3rd China/Caribbean Trade and Economic Forum, the Jamaican and Chinese government assigned an agreement for the provision of a Chinese grant worth 30 million RMB ($5.617 million USD) for agriculture in Jamaica. The current state of this project is unknown.
