Description

On June 5th, 2008, China's Minister of Water Resources and Costa Rica's Minister of Environment and Energy signed a memorandum of understanding for cooperation on water resources. This would include exchanging research and experts on water. Implementation can be tied to the Cañas-Bebedero Aqueduct Construction project, undertaken between 2019 and 2022 (Project ID #70429), as well as China Tecc's 2015 proposal to construct 45 water treatment plants and 27 desalinization plants in Costa Rica ("¿Tecnología china para terminar con problema hídrico en Costa Rica?"). There is no evidence that work has been moved forward on the latter proposal.
