In 2012, the Kyrgyz Deputy Minister of Health proposed to the Kyrgyz Parliamentary Subcommittee on Social Affairs that the Kyrgyz Government request grant funding from the Chinese Government for the construction of a 150-bed hospital in the city of Osh. Then, in March 2013, the Chinese Government and the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic signed letters of exchange for the Osh Hospital Construction Project. This initial amount of grant funding that was committed was RMB 42 million, but this amount was later increased to RMB 181 million (or approximately $26.4 million). The Kyrgyz Ministry of Health then signed a hospital design contract with (China New Era International Engineering Corporation) Nerin Engineering Co., Ltd. on April 11, 2013. Nerin successfully completed the design of the hospital in August 2014. Shanxi Huashan International Construction Corporation was the contractor for the construction implementation. Hospital construction began on October 10, 2016 and the hospital handover ceremony took place on April 22, 2019. The Osh City Clinic Hospital is located in located in Ak-Tilek neighborhood of Osh. The hospital building area spans 12,500 square meters. It is a 150-bed hospital that includes administrative, outpatient, stationary and auxiliary buildings with modern medical equipment and ambulances.
