Summary: In 2004, China donated nearly 6 million dollars to neighboring Tajikistan to help fight poverty in the Central Asian nation. Mountainous Tajikistan has a 520-kilometer (325-mile) border with its huge eastern neighbor. The two countries inaugurated their first border crossing for vehicles, goods and people in May.
