Summary: In 2001, China sent communication equipment worth 10m dollars to Kyrgyzstan. The head of the communication and information science directorate of the Ministry of Transport and Communication, K. Talypov, said equipment [telephone station] for 10,000 subscribers would be installed in Bishkek and then in other regions. China's ZTE company, and Kyrgyztelekom, a joint-stock company, concluded a cooperation agreement to deliver and assemble the equipment.
