Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On April 16, 2012, the government of China sent Tajikistan a humanitarian aid package consisting of 220 tons of rice, 120 tons of vegetable oil, tents, and sheets. It is unclear which part of the Chinese government provided the funding, and the financial value of the project is unclear.

Staff comments

This project should not be confused with Record ID#57839, the 2011 natural disaster response from China to Tajikistan. The 2012 aid package primarily seeks to address the impact of an unusually cold winter, while the 2011 aid package primarily seeks to address a flood.
