Project narrative

On January 21, 2014, the Chinese Government donated 85 pre-fabricated houses and portable toilets for victims of torrential rains that killed 18 people and displaced 15,000 others in Mozambique. The donation was handed over to the Government of Mozambique’s relief agency, the National Disaster Management Institute (INGC) at a ceremony officiated by State Administration Minister, Carmelita Namashalua. China’s Ambassador to Mozambique, Li Chunhua, who delivered the gift, said his government would continue to support Mozambicans whenever they are in need. The monetary value of this donation is unknown.
