Description

In 2012, the Chinese Government provided a $2,180,000 grant to the Government of Samoa for the construction of Faleu Primary School in the village of Faleu on Manono Island. Shanghai Construction Group was the contractor responsible for implementation. Construction on the project began in April 2013, and a completion/handover ceremony was held on January 24, 2014. This was part of a group of 4 primary schools throughout Samoa funded by Chinese aid and built by Shanghai Construction Group. The project includes the construction of the new L shape, 10 classrooms & hall, two-story building. All classrooms have television monitors and overhead projectors. It also includes a computer lab, a tuck shop, and a basketball court. Faleu Primary School is the only primary school on Manono Island. The building area is 984.1 square meters, including 8 classrooms and library, a computer room, and a music classroom. The lobby is equipped with teaching equipment such as computers, organs, and multifunctional media. This elementary school is one of four elementary schools that received aid from China.
