Description

On October 16, 2001, the Chinese Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina presented a letter of intent to Zlatko Lagumdžija, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The letter of intent conveyed the Chinese Government’s interest in providing a $2 million grant for the construction of a primary school in Sarajevo's municipality of Novi Grad. It is not clear if this pledge of financial support was ever fulfilled entirely. However, on November 30, 2001, the Chinese Government and the Government of Bosnia and Herzegovina signed a $1.2 million grant agreement for the construction of two secondary schools in Sarajevo's Novi Grad municipality (see Project ID#42051)
