Project narrative

On September 9, 2004, the Chinese Government pledged to allocate a $600,000 grant for the training of 60 Belarusian trade and economic specialists (with expertise in finance, banking, tax, and customs) in China. The specialists would be divided into 3 groups of 20 and travel to China to learn about its economic development experiences, including government regulation of the economy, economic reforms, and export promotion. Then, on November 4, 2004, the Chinese Government and the Government of Belarus signed an exchange of letters, which committed RMB 5 million of grant assistance for this purpose.

Staff comments

The Russian project title is обучения белорусских специалистов. Belarus was not ODA-eligible from 2000 to 2004, so AidData has set the flow class variable to OOF-like.
