Full Description

Project narrative

On December 24, 2004, the Chinese Government provided a RMB 5 million grant to Georgia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the rental of the building hosting the Embassy of Georgia in Beijing, China. The grant transfer agreement was issued by a Chinese embassy official in Tbilisi. The proceeds of the grant were to be used to cover the cost of property rental payments of Georgia's embassy in Beijing for 3 to 4 years. The proceeds were also used to purchase and maintain office supplies and computer equipment for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and embassy. Georgia lacked an embassy in China prior to this project. The new embassy was established on May 26, 2005. The project commenced on December 24, 2004 and ended on December 1, 2005.
