Chinese Government provides RMB 5 million grant for Goce Delcev Primary School Renovation Project

On August 6, 2009 and August 10, 2009, the Chinese Government and the Government of Macedonia signed letters of exchange, committing RMB 5 million of grant funding for the Goce Delcev Primary School Renovation Project. The purpose of this project was to renovate the Goce Delcev primary school (ООУ Гоце Делчев) in the municipality of Prilep. It involved the installation of new windows, flooring, and roofing, as well as the provision of new benches, stools, and blackboards. China IPPR International Engineering Co., Ltd. (IPPR) was the contractor responsible for implementation. It hired a Macedonian firm (B.A.R. ECE) as a subcontractor on January 30, 2010. The project commenced on May 14, 2010, and ended on August 10, 2010. It was officially handed over to the local authorities on November 12, 2010.

This project is also known as the Goce Delčev Primary School Renovation Project. The Macedonian project title is проект за реновирање на ОУ Гоце Делчев во Прилеп. The Chinese project title is 援马其顿学校整修项目. According to the subcontractor responsible for construction, the monetary value of the grant commitment that supported this project is RMB 4,720,000.
